Early September Hunts
The first few weeks of September have been good! Two hunts and two kills within one week of each other.
First hunt was out at 4J Ranch in Leona, TX. I was set up in the middle blind. Sat from 6pm to about 11:30pm when a group finally came out. I settled my crosshairs on a large sow in the back of the group out at about 65 yards. I nailed her with a high shoulder shot and she ran 80 yards into the thick stuff. After about 20 minutes of tracking, I recovered her. Good eater. Here’s the video.
Next hunt was out at my lease in Rusk, TX. I was in a blind we call dingo that overlooks a feeder about 117 yards away. I started the sit at around 630pm. Full moon. Saw several coyotes to start the sit. Finally at about 230am, a boar came out. I popped him as he quartered to me. Knocked him down but he still got up and ran another 20 yards. I recovered him pretty quickly. Here’s the video.
